About the Skills Advancement grant

The Skills Advancement Grant helps small businesses invest in building a highly skilled workforce through staff training and upskilling, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement that enhances company performance and competitiveness.

How can my business benefit from the Skills Advancement grant?

Support is available for external training, travel and accommodation costs at 50% grant up to a maximum of £15,000 grant.

The grant is available for 18 months only with no option to extend the offer.

Mandatory, repeat and routine training are excluded as additionality cannot be determined.

Who is eligible for the Skills Advancement grant?

The Skills Advancement grant is only available to Invest Northern Ireland clients. If you would like more information on becoming a client, see How we support business.  

To be eligible, you must also meet the following criteria: 

  • Turnover: The company's annual turnover is £10.2 million or less
  • Balance sheet total: The company's balance sheet total is £5.1 million or less
  • Number of employees: The company's average number of employees is 50 or less
