The Vet Service in Coleraine to create eight jobs following export success

Coleraine based vet recruitment platform The Vet Service, is growing its business with the creation of eight jobs, having secured new business in Great Britain, RoI and Asia Pac.

Founded in 2016 by local veterinarian Ed Taylor, The Vet Service is an online jobs platform for the veterinary industry. 

Invest NI has worked with The Vet Service since its inception in 2016. Its success is testament to the hard work and dedication of its team, which has helped it make significant strides internationally.

Talking about the investment, Founder of The Vet Service, Ed Taylor said: “Our mission is to help the veterinary industry maintain sustainable, valued working environments and careers globally. The idea for our service came about when we realised that practices were finding it increasingly difficult to find suitable vets, which ultimately led to the creation of our specialist digital jobs platform.

“The people who are part of our business are the main driver in our success and we are delighted to be supported by Invest NI to expand our team with a further eight staff. We have also received critical advice and guidance from Invest NI on our road to securing key international business.

“Recently, we expanded our service and launched a new online vet webinar platform where vets can receive vital CPD courses from accredited speakers. Our new online service means that veterinary professionals can receive accredited professional development from anywhere in the world, with expert speakers covering a range of important topics in the industry. In the current pandemic with localised restrictions in place, this type of service is more important than ever.”

Invest NI has offered the company over £76,000 of support towards marketing, technical development, skills, trade assistance and the creation of eight jobs.

In just four years, it has secured a number of new contracts in Great Britain and RoI as well as New Zealand, Australia and Canada. The new roles will ensure The Vet Service has the resources to strengthen its brand and drive further export growth.”
