Eastern Regional Office

Our Eastern Team is located in Belfast and works in partnership with businesses and stakeholders across the Antrim & Newtownabbey and Belfast City council areas.

Invest NI support for Eastern Regional Office area, 2019-20 to 2023-24

Together with stakeholders we work in partnership to drive economic development throughout the wider Belfast area. We do this by providing a range of support to help our export focused businesses think strategically and achieve greater export sales.

Over the past five years, we have offered £194m of support to 1,181 businesses in the Belfast and Antrim & Newtownabbey area.

This support, alongside the companies' investment commitments, has the potential to generate £1.3bn investment in the local economy, creating 10,146 jobs.

What we do

The Eastern Regional Office works with businesses from a breadth of sectors including:

  • Advanced manufacturing and engineering
  • Agri-Food
  • Creative technology
  • Financial services
  • Life and health sciences
  • Professional and legal services

We also work with emerging sectors such as cyber security, agri-tech, smart cities, and creative businesses.

Council areas covered by the Eastern Regional Office

Antrim & Newtownabbey Council

As a Statutory Partner in Love Living Here, we are committed to working in partnership with Antrim & Newtownabbey Council to help businesses grow and compete globally.

Between 2019-2020 to 2023-2024 we offered support of £29m to 193 businesses based in the Borough.

This support, combined with company investment, has the potential to generate £269m of investment in the area, and support the creation of 848 jobs.

Our support included over £485k of Local Economic Development funding to the council to support the development of a range of programmes to meet the needs of local business.

This support was part funded by ERDF, under the Investment for Growth and Jobs Programme 2014-2020.

Belfast City Council

As a Statutory Partner in the Belfast Agenda, we are committed to working in partnership to help businesses across the city grow and compete on a global level.

Between 2019-20 and 2023-24 we offered support of £166m to 988 businesses based in the borough.
This support, combined with company investment, has the potential to generate just over £1bn of investment in the area, and support the creation of 9,298 jobs.

Eastern Regional Business Manager

Susan O'Kane is the Eastern Regional Business Manager and has been with the organisation since 2003. She has held several roles including working with the ICT and manufacturing sectors.
